Micro Fiction Submissions Currently Open
Our September monthly micro fiction contest is closed. Our final contest of the year will take place in October. The submission window will be open from October 21-27, and the theme is Solarpunk Halloween.
**The Monthly Micro Fiction Contest will close for the remainder of 2022 after the October submission window. But we’ll back in 2023!
What does a solarpunk community look like in the sky? This could be about solarpunk future aerial flight tech, or it could go as far as a solarpunk floating city. The only limitations are the sky and your imagination!
250 word limit.
One winners gets a $25 prize + publication on our Patreon and our public blog.
Submissions must be 250 words or less and based on the monthly contest theme.
There are no submission or contest fees.
Submissions are capped at 100 per monthly contest.
Winners are announced the following month. If you win the monthly micro fiction contest, you do not have to wait before submitting to the general magazine. All other regular submission guidelines apply.
All monthly micro fiction contest submission windows open at 12:01 a.m. on the third Friday of each month (with the exception of July’s contest, see above) , and close at 11:59 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month.

July 14-28 — Solarpunk Deserts
August 19-25 — Solarpunk in the Sky
September 16-22 — Indigenous Futures (Indigenous authors only, including Latinx authors)
October 21-27 — Solarpunk Halloween
