Advertise with Solarpunk Magazine
Solarpunk Magazine runs ads that are in line with its values and mission, including ads for other science fiction, fantasy, and climate fiction magazines, authors, books, publishers, etc. We reserve the right to refuse to sell ad space to any applicant we deem to fall outside the scope of our magazine and its work, as well as any applicant or ad we consider to be out of line with our values of environmental sustainability and social justice. If you represent a big corporation outside of the publishing world, we probably won’t get back to you. Our goal is to be an affordable advertising option for authors and indie presses.
We will not sell space for ads that we deem to be greenwashing.
We have a limited number of free spaces available for environmental and social justice movement organizations.
Advertise Inside the Magazine
We currently offer advertising space inside our digital issues (six issues per year in PDF, EPUB, and MOBI formats) at the following rates:
Full Page: $60 per ad per month
(8.25 x 11.75 in / 210 x 297 mm)
Half page: $40 per ad per month
(4.125 x 5.875 in / 105 x 149 mm)
Quarter Page: $25 per ad per month
(2.06 x 2.94 in / 53 x 75 mm)
Advertise on Our Website
Our website averages around 30 thousand unique visitors per year and approximately 70 thousand pages views per year.
Ad Placement: Ads are displayed on all website pages except blog posts and the 404 Error page. They will generally appear in the right hand column, but ads might display after content on certain pages or when displayed on phones and other small devices. We feature up to three ads per month will be featured per month.
Dimensions: 300 x 250 px (width x height)
Resolution: at least 72 dpi, no more than 300 dpi
File Formats: .jpg, .png
Size Limit: 500kb
Duration: All ads run for one month and are published on the first of each month.
Cost: Special introductory offer of $100 usd per month.

Advertise in our Newsletter
Ads in our newsletter go out via email directly to approximately 2,000 newsletter subscribers who have actually given us their address and asked us to email them. Our newsletter also posts to our blog, so newsletter ads come with basic, free, one page website advertising as well.
Image Dimensions: 300 x 250 px (width x height) or 400 x 400 px
Resolution: at least 72 dpi, no more than 300 dpi
File Formats: .jpg, .png
Size Limit: as close to 500kb as possible
Text Limit: 100 words for Newsletter, 250 words for dedicated email blast.
Duration: Newsletter ads general publish around the first of each month. The number of newsletters your ad appears in depends on how many spots you purchase. Each newsletter is also posted to our website blog where it can be viewed publicly and indefinitely.
Cost: $100 USD per newsletter (includes other news, ads, etc)
$200 USD per dedicated email blast (just your ad by itself)
