Description
In this workshop, we’ll explore how to write compelling solarpunk stories without your utopian worlds becoming boring, including topics such as designing tension in non-dystopian worlds, writing systemic conflict (not just villain conflict), compelling character arcs for post-crisis societies, and avoiding “greenwashed optimism.”
Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 11-1 PM PST.
This workshop takes place online via Zoom. Registrants will be sent login information upon registration.
No one will be turned away on account of money.
If the cost of the workshop is prohibitive but you want to attend, please email us at info@solarpunkmagazine.com, and we’ll add you to the list of attendees, no questions asked.
Solarpunk Magazine is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our workshop facilitators are paid thanks to a grant from Accelerate Resilience Los Angeles, and all money collected from attendance fees goes toward purchasing stories, poems, essays, and art for future issues of the magazine.
