A Big Thank You

We’d like to share our appreciation for those who have supported Solarpunk Magazine both recently and in the past. Without you this magazine and it’s message of hope wouldn’t be possible, and we’re so fortunate to have a community that cares about the world, the future, and each other.

With two weeks remaining, we’d also love to focus on our current funding campaign, which will provide us with the revenue needed to keep our magazine running through 2025: here is the link to our campaign.

By the end of this year we will have published 18 issues full of positive futurism. Many of our writers are first-time published authors, live in the Global South, or are otherwise disadvantaged within the mainstream publishing industry.

In addition to the natural diversity that is present in all our issues, our editors of color have created “Colorful Roots,” a yearly issue that features authors and artists of color exclusively. Our humble team of 5 is deeply moved by our readership and supporters.

Donating to or sharing word of our Kickstarter campaign ensures that we can keep publishing uplifting, solutions-focused climate fiction. A few dollars shared with our campaign is a few more dollars in the pockets of our 2025 cast of authors and artists!

This year, in addition to magazine issues and subscription we’re also including a new backer perk—City of Hope, a narrative solarpunk TRPG written and illustrated by our editors-in chief. The game has both its own tier and is available as an add-on! A $20 pledge will earn a printable PDF of the game along with an armful of bonus perks. $50 will nab you the full-color hardcover edition.

In addition to other perks like a copy of our 2024 micro fiction anthology, the game tiers include a printable PDF of solarpunk themed major arcana tarot cards (see above images), which can be used as an optional game mechanic. The hardcover tier also comes with a free set of dice for the optional D4/D12 game mechanic.
