Solarpunk Graphic Novel, Imagine 2200, and More!

Written by Michele Paris, illustrated by Lorenzo Livrieri, and based on the original short story by Renan Bernardo, the solarpunk graphic novel, ANTICIPATION OF HOLLOWNESS, is a story about the dangers of a sustainable, utopian world that doesn’t include everyone.

The topic of inclusivity is close to our hearts here at Solarpunk Magazine, and so we’re excited to share the news about this graphic novel with you. In April, we’ll be posting a review, so keep an eye out for that as well.

Originally published in Italian by Futuresque, the graphic novel has been translated into English and publishes on May 7. You can preorder the graphic novel, which is currently on sale from the Android Press bookstore.

Last Chance to Support ON OUR SKIN!

ON OUR SKIN is a short film about Nigerian students experiencing censorship of the books want to read, and the community reaction to messages of protest mysteriously appearing etched into their skin. This short film touches on themes of censorship and freedom of expression, as well as justice, feminism, and gender identity. You can view the teaser for the film here!

The film wrapped up production a few weeks ago, but their crowd funder is down to the last few days and still needs about $1,000 in support before this Thursday to fund which, to be honest, is a modest goal.

Join us in coming together as a solarpunk community to show them how much we value African speculative fiction! The money raised goes to pay the cast and crew for their time and incredible work!

Click here to check out the Kickstarter campaign and support the film!

Even if you’re unable to make a pledge at this time, they always appreciate when people share the link to the campaign to help spread the word!
