Our podcast has been through a couple iterations over the past few years, and we haven’t really had a new episode in about a year. But that changed yesterday when we relaunched our podcast! Now titled, Solarpunk Futures: Demand Utopia!, our host and co-editor-in-chief, Justine Norton-Kertson, delves into different aspects and examples of utopianism and post utopianism, of course with particular interest and focus on solarpunk.
In yesterdays first episode of the newly relaunched podcast, we talked about different visions of utopia through time and across the planet like Plato’s Republic, More’s Utopia, the Indigenous concept of Seventh Generation Stewardship, the African concept of Ubuntu, as well as figures such as Robert Owen to Karl Marx, Emma Goldman, and Lucy Parsons.
